Hunt, Injuries, Our Spine & Bomber To Blame?

As reported earlier the missle launcher himself escaped the alligations of the crazy yellow martians and managed to pencil his name into our starting line-up on Sunday bar unforseen circumstances and/or pure stupidity on behalf of the selection committee. Huzzah

Geelong's Josh Hunt has escaped with a reprimand despite pleading guilty to striking Collingwood rookie Chris Egan at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

After entering the surprise plea the Geelong defence team, led by Sean Carroll, then successfully argued that his conduct was reckless and in play rather than intentional and behind play.

In his defence, Hunt said he had made contact with Egan's side and stomach as he attempted to manoeuvre Egan away from Scarlett's path.

The defence team successfully argued that while Hunt had made contact with Egan his intent had not been "to strike a blow".

Well thats one problem crossed off our growing list...

Meanwhile Bomber has come out & taken a few bullets for the team it seems.

Geelong coach Mark Thompson says he's as much to blame as his players for the form slump the team finds itself in after two shock losses in the past fortnight.

Thompson said the Cats' winning form earlier in the season may have led to complacency creeping in both on the field and in the coaches' box, and the group would present a united front as it attempts to regain its winning ways.

"I've done a lot wrong," Thompson admitted at Skilled Stadium on Wednesday.

"(But) we're all in it together. It's not just us blaming the players for their poor form - together we've got to find a way to win.

"Sometimes you do (get complacent). I think it's human nature that that happens to people in general, and we're no different as coaches."

I don't know if I buy this from Bomber. I think it's just to take some pressure off the team, which no doubt is slowly starting to mount, expectations are high in this town.

I ventured down to KP this afternoon to have a look at the boys in action. Of note was..
