Round 14 Vs. Hawthorn

As said in the preview, if we turn up we should win. Fortunately for the cat faithful that travelled up to the Phone Dome on Sunday that is exactly what they did.

The Hawthorn chargers never had any real menace in them as we got out to an early four goal lead which slowly increased as the game wore on. The second quarter proved to be the only real frustration as we didn't put our dominance on the scoreboard due to lackluster finishing on the forwards behalf & some poor delivery into the fifty at times.

The Hawks. Well what can you say about them? I mean, Richie Vandenberg is their captain for christs sake! Williams was well held by Scarlett, Franklin did well but his possessions were too far up the ground to hurt us and ball magnets Tim Clarke & Steven Greene couldn't kick over a jam tin. That and their lack of disclipine cost them four fifty metre penalties.

We didn't really get out of second gear during the game but didn't really need to as even though extremely injury depleted we managed to win with ease.

I honestly cant think of negatives to come out of the game. Everyone did reasonably well. Charlie Gardiner needs to learn what a 2nd & 3rd effort is. How he is still in the side is bemusing. Also Gazza was held very well by young Sewell, although young Gaz could have had a few more umpiring decisions go his way.

This & other posts are up very late due to server problems out of our hands.
