So this is it. The first barrier to overcome if we want to play finals football this season is to beat the Power at Skilled Stadium tomorrow. Lose and we might as well not win again for the rest of the season. All three emergencies played in the reserves this afternoon to suggest that Mooney is going to be fit & able to play otherwise the club have taken a hell of a risk.
Port have been in some decent form of late despite losing their last couple of games. They could've accounted for Richmond if they kicked straight and were reportedly good against a superior Melbourne side the week in Round 13. Using the their youngsters as their strength they play a quick, play on brand of football which probably doesn't suit our somewhat average speed midfield so rain might be welcomed at SS tomorrow.
Despite missing Chad Cornes, Peter Burgoyne & Stuart Dew expect the Power to put up a real fight, a lot better than their last visit to Sleepy Hollow. However I think these key outs will be the difference in the outcome.
Prediction: Geelong by 15 points
