Cats get their fight back...way too late
I'm going to keep this short and simple because our season is basically over and it's all about 2007.
Despite Geelong beating the reigning premiers by 27 points on Sunday you could argue that it was one of the most frustrating games of the season. Not because of how we played, nor because at times there were 30 players around the ball. It was simply another case of what could have been.
Lead by Jarad Rooke the players showed fantastic tenacity, desperation & effort against a team that prides itself on these traits, but the question has to be asked where was this attitude last week against St. Kilda? Where was it only three weeks ago in Canberra against the Kangaroos? It is an all too familiar story with us at Geelong. We somehow find our best after the horse has already bolted.
Matthew Scarlett, after I had criticised him on here just last week came back and played his best game of the season on Barry Hall keeping him to only 2 kicks. It still doesn't change my opinion on his season but it was a glimpse back to the Scarlo of 2004. He was fantastic.
Apart from that it was the usual crew. Mooney played CHF really well, he has really made it his position this year, when he has been on the field that is. While Joel Corey was his usual self in the midfield with help from Paul Chapman & Darren Milburn.
