So it has basically come down to this. Win and the 'goal' that is finals stays alive for another week, lose and we can all start looking forward to next season. Feels like I've been saying that for weeks now, but it seems appropriate that a match of Geelong Vs. St. Kilda stature will go a fair way to settling the argument.
We've got the wood of the Saints at the moment having won 3 of the last 4 games & they're coming off a loss to West Coast in which they lost a vital cog of their side Matt Maguire. Koschitzke comes in and if he lines up we must show no remorse to him, how hard we go at him & the ball will symbolise how much the players want finals football.
Mooney & Gazza come in for the suspended Jimmy Bartel and the lackluster James Kelly who at the moment seems to be losing his battle of being in the hoops next season.
I don't know how this one will turn out, either way wouldn't surprise me at all but for some reason the past week I've found optimism in our season a bit. Which is weird as I can't see us doing anything if we make finals in the first place thus making the finals a somewhat pointless exercise. I just feel this is the Geelong 'thing to do'. You know, mess up a big chance this season only to make a late run of things when it's all too late to try and save our own bacon (read Mark Thompson & his coaching staff). No matter what happens this season should not & cannot be tolerated by the Geelong fans, we should not be happy regardless of whether we sneak into the eight or not.
What does the above have to do with the St. Kilda game? Meh, it had to be said.
