Who says we can't travel?
I am gutted I missed hearing the rubbish the BBC put out to commentate this game and had to go to my best mates 21st instead...yeah right.
Althought it would have been good for a laugh, from what I've read I don't know how the Geelong faithful managed it for a full four quarters...well nearly four quarters.
Overall, it was good to get a pointless win and give a few young guys a run out and hopefully the trip managed to unite the playing group a bit.
Cats beat Power in LondonGeelong has run out 21 point winners over Port Adelaide in the annual challenge match at the Oval on Saturday.
The Cats led nearly all the way in an entertaining affair, to win 13.10 (88) to Port's 10.7 (67). Geelong midfielder Jimmy Bartel was adjudged best afield.
The last quarter featured two streakers and a couple of scuffles as the Cats ran out winners.
Ryan Gamble kicked four goals for Geelong, while Josh Mahoney and Domenic Cassisi booted two for the Power.
Port Adelaide registered the games opening goal through Greg Bentley before the Cats reeled off five unanswered majors. Late goals to the Power saw the quarter time margin cut to 14 points.
The Power kicked early goals in the second term, and when Domenic Cassisi booted his second the deficit was just one point. Late goals to Matt McCarthy and Brent Prismall returned Geelong's lead back to 14 points.
Neither team could assert its authority in the third quarter as the match developed into an arm wrestle.
Bartel was leading Geelong while Pearce was winning possession in midfield for the Power.
Port outscored Geelong by a single point in the quarter, with the Cats entering the final term with a 13-point edge.
A brace of goals to gamble early in the final term saw Geelong pull away for the win.
